ANNUAL REPORT - MISSIONS

On behalf of the mission team, thank you for supporting the work of our International Workers and local missionaries. Your  prayer and financial support have been a crucial part of their ministry around the world.  The Mission Team here at Gateway is so grateful for a church family that continues to support our international and national workers through this uncertain time.

The team began this past ministry year with plans to continue building our partnerships with the work of the Lobbezoos in Cambodia and Rich and Elisa Brown with Inca Link in the jungle of Ecuador at the Ninawachi Bible Institute. In the fall our 2019 plans were starting to come together for a short term trip to Cambodia for the summer of 2020.

In early March Pastor Steve and Mark VanDonkersgoed traveled to Ecuador to teach the Set Free Retreat with the staff and students and Ninawachi. It was very well received and many of the students and staff found new freedom in their walk with Jesus.

God's timing was perfect as Ecuador and other countries closed their doors to travel just after the plane home had left.

Although the Cambodia trip had to be canceled for this summer the Mission Team met to decide whether to continue with the goal of raising funds for another school in Cambodia.  In the end it was decided, with the blessing of the Board of Elders, to continue the campaign to raise $15,000 for another school partnership in Rural Cambodia.

The team is excited to share that at the time of writing this that we are within $1,500 of reaching the goal!

Thank you, Gateway family, for continuing to be part of God's plan that every ear would have the opportunity to hear the good news.  Your prayers and support are a blessing to our international workers and their ministries.

Gateway continues to support our missionaries here in Canada.

This year Graham Hynds moved on to pastoral ministry, however we continue to support Erika as she continues to work with university students with Power to Change.

We also continue to support Doug and Sheryl Braaten and their role with Teach Beyond and this year we began to support the Lyons family as Charlie began a role with an organization called Leading Influence.  In this role Charlie will be providing  chaplaincy to our political leaders here in Ontario.

Michel and Denise Dubé have finished their work and will not be returning to Guinea. They are waiting on the Lord for next steps.

Please continue to  pray and support  these families as they deal with the challenges that COVID has brought to their ministries here in Canada.
