To Gateway’s Young Adults’ Third Annual “Caledonia Spring Food Drive” Webpage!
Our food drive is a prayerfully considered, Spirit lead initiative to bless the community and fellowship with our church. We have ambitious, but achievable goals that we are pursuing with courage and excitement in the knowledge that, our Lord and Savior goes before us and our church stands behind us.
From this page you can learn about our food drive, interact with our map of Caledonia which is divided into manageable routes, and even sign up a team or individual from our easy to use online sign up form.
Spring Food Drive in a Nutshell
What you need to know
This is a Family Event! There is a job for everyone
SATURDAY MORNING EVENT! Routes will only take approx. 1.5 - 2.5 hours to complete with 2-3 runners and one driver
All the food from one route should fit in a Van, SUV or Truck but drop off points have been arraigned if your vehicle becomes full
All food and donations will go to the Caledonia Food Bank. Donations in excess of what the Caledonia Food Bank can accept will go to neighboring Haldimand food banks
This is a great opportunity for High-School students to get volunteer hours
If you are wondering, our #1 need is groups of 3-4 to sign up to drop off bags and pick up food for one route. If you don't have a vehicle that's fine, we'll pair you with a driver
THIS WILL BE TONS OF FUN!
Volunteers under the age of 18 MUST submit a signed physical copy of the permission form.
Forms are available in the church Cafe.
Matthew 25:35-40 New International Version (NIV)
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
